Lights at Temple Square

Last night for family night we went to Temple Square to see the lights. It was very cold but fun to see the nativity and to feel the Christmas spirit.

Dancing Kylee!!

Kylee had a dance performance on Saturday!! It was what she had been waiting for all month. Her teacher Ms Lindsey told me that she was the leader of the group!! She knew all her dance moves and even practiced them at home by pointing her finger at her baby sister saying "You don't know what were going to do!!" Unfortunately we had a little problem with recording the performance due to error by her father who accidentally turned the wrong button on the camera!! We have yet been able or wanted to tell our daughter that we don't have it recorded!! Wish us luck when we have to tell her!!

Rivalry Week

Here comes down to the final and most important game BYU vs Utah. Late last night we had a neighbor sneak into our garage and put a licence frame around Robert's car plates. I do have to admit that I did help and really it was quite fun. My neighbor called to see if Robert has been out of town because his car is usually parked on the driveway. I said no last weekend we moved bikes to the shed so that he could fit his car in the garage. To her dismay they had been planning this trick for sometime. Being the great neighbor and friend that cheers for the same team I agreed to leave the garage open. While I and others went to the midnight showing of Twilight my neighbor came over and snuck under the garage that was slightly opened. The timing couldn't have been better because as he was putting the final touches on, Robert opened the garage door to throw away a stinky diaper when he noticed that the garage door was up a little. He went to shut the door and that is when the neighbor rolled out just in time. I waited and wondered when Robert would see his new addition to the car. Around 10:00 am I started to get phone calls from him. I was on the phone and didn't answer the other line. When I finally talked to him he said who did it? I tried to lead him astray but it didn't work. He knew exactly who it was... I said when did you noticed it and he replied when I went to get my laptop out of the trunk of my car!! I think it is great because little do you know that Robert was planning on giving them Utah cups but changed his mind because he liked the cups too well to give them away. Now my only fear is that his retaliation will be a lot worse than just a licence plate frame!!!

Surgery for Isaac!!

Today was the day that I had been dreading for at least three weeks now. Isaac had surgery on his mouth where he had a growth on his gum. The Dr. told me to prepare Isaac for his surgery date so that he could act like a big kid. Knowing Isaac anyone of you might laugh at this task, just ask anyone who has seen him freak out at cutting his toenails!! He went in nervous as all get out. When the time came for us to separate from him he did really good. The nurse said that he did great when they hooked up the IV. When he woke up he was funny because he was seeing double. He said "Dad you have four eyeballs!!" Somethings I just couldn't stop laughing. The Dr. said that they took some of his bone on his lower teeth and that hopefully the body will take care of the rest. I guess you don't grow more bone there. We go back in a week for a checkup. For now Isaac is on a liquid and soft food diet!! He also gets to do cold pack every other 20 minutes that he is thrilled about and a bandage that goes around his head that he has to wear for two days!!

Robert and Isaac were helping my dad grout the new rock put on their house. It was really cute because Isaac was a hard worker. Then after it was done Isaac goes up to my mom and says grandma are you going to pay me for the work that I did? Totally embarrassed I said that she didn't need to pay him. My mom then informed me that she told him in the beginning that she would pay him. Now I knew why he didn't stop to play and kept on working. Isaac loves money!! He even gets the neighbor Chris to throw him the football for money. Grandma Ronda also feeds his frenzy of money when he goes over to visit she allows him to count her pennies in her big jar, then depending how many he counts he gets to keep some. Now the harder part is for Isaac to save the money and not blow it on whatever he see next at the store!!

Halloween 2008

Halloween came and Isaac was not feeling good the night before. He threw up Thursday night and I knew that his Halloween experience was going to be changed. He didn't sleep much that night so it was hard to wake him the next morning. Depending on how he felt I wasn't going to make him go. However he knew that if he showed any signs of being sick I would indeed keep him home from school the biggest day of the year when you have a party. I made him his oatmeal and he just sat there staring at it. I knew right away that he wasn't going to stay home by his lame excuse of it isn't the right oatmeal. Any other day Isaac would stay home in a heart beat. As we proceed to getting ready he keeps laying down on the floor. I said Isaac maybe today isn't a good day to go to school. Then he whined I am fine I want to go. I drop him off at school and I gave him the rules to call me if by an means he can't make it. Time goes by and I don't hear from him while he is at school. I pick him up and he seems to be doing okay.

I had made a doctor visit for Lexi and also scheduled the kids to get their flu shots. The only thing is I decided not to tell them about it which is very unlike me. Isaac and Kylee fell asleep on the way to the doctor. We see Dr. Dan and Isaac is very lifeless. Very unusual for him for anyone that knows him. The nurse comes in to give Lexi her one year old shots and the two flu shots. Isaac noticed how she said shots and then who wants to go first. I sheepily smiled and said hey guys we are going to get our flu shots today. The screams burst through their little bodies. After the screams were done Isaac said that he would go after his sister. Kylee fights it a little more and then I held her for the nurse to give the shot. Isaac now knows it is his turn and starts to cry again. I then picked him up (As most of you know Isaac is almost the same size as me which makes it difficult to pick him up). The nurse says do I need to go get Dr. Dan to help us and Isaac screams NO.... he then pleads with the nurse not to put it in all the way. So she explains it one more time and how fast it is. Sure enough as soon as she put it in he stopped crying and says "that didn't hurt at all." And he was done, no crying, nothing. The nurse gave them treats because after all it was Halloween and this is the only day that they would get treats from the doctor office.

We headed home and again Isaac falls asleep. We get home and he lays on the couch and goes back to sleep. We have dinner and he doesn't eat anything. All day long I don't think he ate anything. It starts to get dark and his cousins are on there way to come go trick or treating. He lays on the floor and we get him dress and he says "Do you think Kylee will take my bag and get candy for me while she trick or treats." It just broke my heart that he had to be sick on that night. He did ride around in the stroller. By the end of the night he was ready to get into his bed!! Hopefully next year he won't be sick!!

Isaac had his last fall soccer game last Saturday. He played really good. I love to see him improve. The whole team really played good this last game and we can't wait to see what happens in the spring. I'm glad that Isaac got the chance to play and have great friends on his team. Now we have to get ready for Jr. Jazz basketball which is always fun and entertaining.

We went to the school Carnival on Friday night. Isaac was a pirate, Kylee was a witch and Lexi was tinker bell. We spent two an half hours there. Let me tell you that the kids had a blast. Isaac and Kylee both came home with different colors of hair. We decided that painting Kylee's face wasn't fun and now we know for Halloween night not to do that.

Lexi started walking the night Robert was out of town. She just walked everywhere that night. It was a lot of fun to see her. She has been standing up in the middle of the floor for at least two months now. Our trouble at the Crossman household will surely be higher now that she can walk.

Alexis first birthday

It doesn't matter how much you don't want them to turn 1, it still happens. I didn't realize how hard of time I was going to have with this moment. But it is here and we try to capture every moment that we could. We went to Gardner Village to see the witches on her Birthday. It was very fun to be there and enjoy the atmosphere as everyone was out and about. Afterwards we went to the pumpkin patch. Lexi has brought a lot of joy into our family and we are very grateful that she is apart of us. I keep thinking back to last year at this time, the sweet baby that I held in my arms. Isaac asked me this morning as we were taking him to school is Lexi still a baby now that she is one. I said yes but I didn't know if that was because I still want her to be little.

Kylee's First Day of Preschool

Today is Kylee's first day of preschool at Riverton High School. She is so excited to go to the same school as Derrick her older cousin!! We cut her hair on Friday and it made me want to cry as I saw five inches of her hair on the ground. My baby girl is getting so big and she is looking really old now with her hair cut.

Kylee really liked the puppets

Most of all Isaac really liked to play with his old friend Katelyn

She has a real cheezy smile sometimes!!

We went to Denver last week. While we were there I got Lexi's 9 months pictures taken. Yeah I know she is almost 11 but at least I got them done!!

Isaac played machine pitch baseball for Herriman. He loved hitting the ball and sliding into bases. His Dad was the assistant coach and Jeff Andrus was the head coach. It was a lot of fun to be on the same team with Miles Andrus and Coleman Chidester.

This is us para sailing in the Caribbean. It was a lot of fun and the best part was that Robert got a little scared when it was time to go back in the boat.
